http://www.deped.gov.ph/updates/updateslinks.asp?id=493
The department of education received 2701 units of laptop computers from Intel Corporation in order to improve the classroom instruction using technology. And also the skills of the teachers and student s in terms of using modern technology to enhance their skills. As future teachers we n need to be knowledgeable in terms of modern technology. Our government makes an agreement to Intel, and GILAS (Gearing-up Internet Literacy and Access for Students). They will provide computers in order to uplift the education system here in the Philippines. It will serve as our advantage to other countries.
The department of education also provides teachers who are trained to handle the computers and in maintaining it. The connectivity and instillation is also the responsibility of department of education. Also the selection of schools who will receive the computers is in their hands. The schools need to have wireless connection to internet. The Intel Corporation, to do their part they provide service-training program for teachers.
We can’t stop the spread of technology; we should go with the flow in terms of technology. It for us to be globally competitive. Students I hope use technology for their own good not in other things that may pollute their minds.
